Musa Al-Koni, vicepresidente del Consejo Presidencial de Libia, se reunió con funcionarios británicos para discutir la cuestión de la migración irregular y su impacto en Libia y Europa.

Según un comunicado del PC, la reunión enfatizó la necesidad de asegurar las fronteras del sur de Libia proporcionando capacidades logísticas, que permitan a los guardias fronterizos combatir el crimen organizado y la migración irregular.
Las partes también discutieron los conflictos en los países vecinos y su impacto en la frágil situación en las regiones del sur de Libia.
Al-Koni subrayó que la división política de Libia presenta un desafío para combatir la migración en medio de la falta de una estrategia unificada. Pidió redoblar los esfuerzos para apoyar la estabilidad de la región saharaui-africana.

According to a PC statement, the meeting emphasized the need to secure Libya's southern borders by providing logistical capabilities, enabling the Border Guards to combat organized crime and irregular migration.
The parties also discussed conflicts in neighbouring countries and their impact on the fragile situation in Libya's southern regions.
Al-Koni underscored that Libya's political division presents a challenge to combating migration amid the lack of a unified strategy. He called for doubling efforts to support the stability of the Saharan-African region.
The PC member also emphasized the need to address the crises facing the region by supporting his initiative "One Sahara," stressing the need to create spatial development in the source countries to reduce the desire of migrants to leave their homelands in search of work abroad.
For his part, the British minister affirmed that irregular migration remains a top priority for his government, which he said is working with relevant countries to reduce this phenomenon. He expressed the UK's desire to cooperate with Libya on this issue, highlighting that Libya is one of the countries affected by its consequences.
