El Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna se queda sin remontada en el Pablos Abril

El Avarca de Menorca gana 1-3 y pasan a cuartos de final de la CEV Cup

Se intentó, con un público entregado y unas jugadoras súper enchufadas desde el inicio, pero no se pudo. El Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna lo dio todo sobre la pista para darle la vuelta al 3-1 de la ida en Pavelló Municipal de Ciutadella, pero el 0-2 logrado por las visitantes acabó con las esperanzas blanquiazules. Sin dejar de luchar, el partido acabó con un 1-3 que mete al Avarca de Menorca en los cuartos de final de la CEV Cup.

La energía del Pablos Abril puso la primera piedra hacia una posible remontada, contagiando a un equipo que salió como un cohete, en especial la capitana Lisbet Arredondo. Aprovechando la ventaja tomada en los compases iniciales, el plantel de Facundo Morando siguió ejecutando el plan de partido para sumar en ataque y controlar las acometidas rivales (8-6). En este periodo, varias acciones de picardía de Quinn Pelland para poner el balón en el suelo.

Sin embargo, Avarca de Menorca demostró todo su poderío y, a base de defensa, logró igualar las fuerzas (12-12). Fue entonces cuando afloró la garra de las leonas con un parcial favorable de 3-0 que obligó al técnico visitante a pedir tiempo muerto.

A la vuelta, las menorquinas fueron otro equipo totalmente diferente, mucho más intensas atrás y efectivas en sus remates. Así lograron no solo empatar a 18, sino ponerse por delante (18-20). El CV Haris no bajó los brazos, aunque no pudieron recuperar el terreno perdido y cedieron 21-25. El golpe fue de las visitantes, pero todavía quedaba mucho partido.

El comienzo del segundo periodo no fue lo más halagüeño para los intereses laguneros. Las jugadoras del Haris lo intentaron de todas las maneras, pero la defensa balear parecía infranqueable (4-7). Con todo, la primera pausa de Morando llegó con un marcador de 5-10. El choque continuó por los mismos derroteros, pero un punto de Arredondo tras una gran pelea levantó al público de sus asientos y creó un halo de esperanza (9-12).

Para el tercer periodo, Facundo Morando siguió confiando en quienes habían actuado hasta entonces, mientras que las menorquinas introdujeron varios cambios en su septeto. Pese al electrónico, las laguneras salieron con energía y dominaron casi de principio a fin. Solo un atisbo de rebelión balear con el 9-10 impidió un set completamente plácido.

Retomando el mando poco después, en el resto de la manga hubo una clara superioridad local. Tanto es así que el Haris apenas tuvo oposición hasta el definitivo 25-15 que les dio el primer punto del partido. Querían la victoria.

La igualdad reinó durante los compases iniciales del cuarto periodo, aunque Avarca de Menorca apretó para finiquitar el partido lo antes posible (8-11). Manejando una diferencia de entre tres y cuatro puntos a favor de su rival, las laguneras nunca desistieron, pero tampoco llegaron a igualar el parcial (13-16).

En un pabellón que siguió animando sin cesar a las suyas, su ánimo inspiró a un equipo blanquiazul que consiguió poner en un aprieto a las visitantes 17-19 y, más intensamente, con el 20-21. No obstante, nada le salió al Tenerife Libby’s La Laguna, que finalmente cedieron por 21-24. Resultado y eliminación cruel para un conjunto local que lo dio todo sobre la pista.
